How do e-vouchers work?
E-vouchers work in a similar way to online banking. Employees are assigned a personal e-voucher account through which they arrange payments directly into their carer’s bank account. Parents can easily monitor the payments they’ve made. E-vouchers are hassle-free for carers as there are no vouchers to redeem.
Can employees receive e-vouchers if they don’t have access to the Internet or email?
No. Employees must have access to the Internet and email to take e-vouchers. This is because payments are actioned through the e-voucher website and they are notified of payments via their email address.
Are the vouchers secure?
E-vouchers are fully secure. Employees use their user name and password to log in.
Security information is also provided which is requested if an employee calls Sodexho Pass.
Do the vouchers have an expiry date?
Childcare Choice vouchers have an expiry date of over 12 months so employees can save them up for use at times when they may need extra childcare e.g. during the school holidays.
What do employees do if their vouchers have expired?
Sodexho Pass has in the past undertaken to replace expired vouchers for a further 12 months. In the unlikely event of vouchers expiring, employees are requested to contact Sodexho Pass if they have not already received communication from Sodexho Pass.
If an employee leaves suddenly, can I cancel their vouchers?
Yes. Vouchers can be cancelled at any time before being spent. A credit note will be issued for the face value of the unspent vouchers, but you will have to pay the full management fee to cover administration costs.
Can an employee be reimbursed for unused vouchers?
It is your decision as an employer whether an employee can be reimbursed for unused vouchers. If you agree to this, you should email the Customer Care team at childcarechoice@sodexhopass.co.uk and ask for a copy of the Childcare Voucher Cancellation Request to be sent to you for completion.
