The decision

Morrison & Foerster’s Marie Small heard about the tax and National Insurance exemption on childcare vouchers through the annual UK Budget announcement. Keen to find out more Marie went onto the web to investigate how vouchers could be introduced into the workplace.

Marie realised that running a childcare voucher scheme through salary sacrifice would mean savings not only for staff but for Morrison and Foerster too through the Employer National Insurance exemption on the voucher amount taken by employees. The business case for introducing a scheme was clear - the next decision was to choose a voucher supplier.

Morrison & Foerster wanted a scheme that was easy to implement and that offered a competitive rate for the service provided. After reviewing a number of providers Marie chose Childcare Choice which matched the company criteria and was also designed specifically for smaller organisations keen to adopt family friendly practices. The scheme has been in place for almost one year. The simplicity of the Childcare Choice e-voucher scheme has proved popular amongst Morrison & Foerster scheme users.

The London office employs approximately 80 staff.
